Welcome to your inside look.

Soccer is more than a game.
it’s A Life-Changing Opportunity to Compete, Grow, and Lead.

our culture

At Azusa Pacific Women’s Soccer, competition is at the core of who we are. We are driven to compete at the highest level, striving for excellence in every training session and every match. Our culture is built on competition, the pursuit of excellence, and to be God honoring. We breed winners—not just on the field, but in life—by pushing each other to rise to every challenge, embrace pressure, and lead with confidence. While our foundation is rooted in faith and character, make no mistake: we play to win. From training ground battles to national-stage competition, APU Women’s Soccer is a place where champions are made.

Excellence. Faith. Community. We are committed to holding ourselves to the highest standards—on the field, in the classroom, and in our communities. More than just athletes, our players leave APU as leaders who stand out from the crowd.

We honor Christ in everything we do. Our goal is to compete with excellence, serve with humility, and inspire change on and off the field.

life as a cougar

We go all in—grinding in training, pushing each other to be our best, and celebrating each other’s success. Whether it’s high-fives after an intense session or a post-practice boba run, our team is a family that thrives together.

Being a part of Azusa Pacific Women’s Soccer is more than just competing on the field—it’s joining a family built on hard work, community, and support. Every player is pushed to grow as an athlete, student, and person, surrounded by teammates and coaches who genuinely care. Off the field, the team embarks on life-changing service trips, using soccer as a bridge to serve others and experience new cultures. But the impact extends far beyond the game. APU Women’s Soccer is committed to preparing players for life after college, equipping them with the leadership skills, faith foundation, and competitive mindset to make a lasting impact in their communities and beyond.

We are winners!

We have a proud tradition of excellence, competition, and character, with a history of success, including two national championships (NAIA 1998, NCCAA 2014) and multiple Elite 8 appearances. Our transition to NCAA Division II continued that success with three national tournament appearances and postseason play in 2024 and 2025. This legacy has produced All-Americans, conference champions, and professional players, all contributing to a culture of hard work, faith, and relentless pursuit of victory. It doesn’t matter what conference we are in—we make a point to compete.

As we move into NCAA Division III, we bring that same standard of excellence. Our goal is to compete for SCIAC championships and national titles, continuing our tradition of dominance regardless of the league. At APU, we invite you to join a winning program and help write the next chapter of success in DIII. The opportunity to be part of this legacy is here.

Through our service trips, we’ve used soccer as a bridge to impact lives beyond the game. These experiences shape us as athletes, but more importantly, as people.

 FAQs

  • Currently, Azusa Pacific is NCAA DII. Starting in 2026, APU will transition to NCAA Division III and join the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), marking the exciting return of its football program. This move reflects APU’s commitment to offering a balanced, Christ-centered collegiate experience that prioritizes both academic and athletic excellence. Competing in SCIAC provides student-athletes the opportunity to excel locally against top-tier institutions while thriving in a close-knit, purpose-driven community.

  • While NCAA Division III regulations prohibit athletic scholarships, Azusa Pacific University offers a variety of financial aid options to support student-athletes. These include academic scholarships, need-based grants, and degree-specific awards, ensuring that your dedication in the classroom and unique talents are recognized and rewarded. This approach allows you to excel both academically and athletically, fostering a well-rounded and fulfilling college experience.

  • Yes! Many of our current players were first seen at an APU ID Camp. Attending a camp gives us the chance to see you train in our environment and style of play, while also giving you the opportunity to work alongside current players and get an authentic feel for our program.

  • Each fall, our team participates in a meaningful experience together. It could be a retreat to Big Bear or a service trip to Mexico to build a home or serve at a children’s center. NCAA allows us to take an international playing tour every three years. Our next tour is expected in the summer of 2027—stay tuned for more details!
